Capabilities

Base models, parts and the custom matrix.

Every custom run starts from a base model we already build and ship. Below is the real lineup with real specifications — what changes per project is the artwork, finish, keys, firmware and packaging around it.

Base models

The lineup a run is built on.

Platform support varies by model. PS5 support means a dedicated PS5-compatible (tested) model; we make no console-maker claims beyond tested compatibility.

ModelBuildStock switches / keysNotes for custom runs
Elite X1Elite X1 leverless controller Full CNC aluminum, premium feel; A4-class footprint; magnetic back cover Layout customizable Our flagship base. An A4-class footprint that is hard to find at this size, with a magnetic back cover and a customizable button layout — a strong base for layout-specific talent and team requests.
M16M16 sloped aluminum leverless controller Sloped ergonomic CNC aluminum unibody; per-key backlight LED + app-controlled side-panel LED; mini OLED; hot-swap Panda V1 1.2 mm tactile; HP nylon keycaps (in-house) The ergonomics and lighting flagship. Most rivals stay flat; the sloped body keeps a natural wrist angle for long desk sessions. Side-panel LED color and mode are app-controlled — a natural fit for talent color identities.
M5M5 split-layout leverless controller Split-layout CNC aluminum; separated direction / attack clusters; dual USB routing; LED; OLED; hot-swap 霞軸 0.5 mm linear; 3D-printed nylon keycaps (layout-specific) Competition pedigree. Used by pro player Raihan at Capcom Cup with a Top 16 finish — non-sponsored, the player's own choice of gear. Enlarged thumb and pinky keys reduce mispresses; well suited to modern-control play.
M3 ProM3 Pro CNC aluminum leverless controller Full CNC aluminum unibody incl. top panel; anodized brushed finish; hot-swap 霞軸 or Panda V2 (selectable); PBT dye-sublimated keycaps Premium metal edition. Laser-engraved key-zone markings show what engraving can do; dye-sub legends never fade. An independent upgraded product, not an M3 variant.
M3M3 leverless controller with acrylic artwork panel Aluminum frame + frosted acrylic top panel; backlight LED; mini OLED display; hot-swap 霞軸 0.5 mm linear; ABS keycaps The artwork workhorse. The acrylic top panel is an ideal factory-printed canvas for talent and brand art. PC / Switch / PS3 / PS4; dedicated PS5-compatible (tested) model.
M5 Pro 18-key layout; CNC aluminum with UV-coated finish; hot-swap 霞軸 or Panda V2 (selectable) Layout designed around modern-control play. UV coating opens up colorway options beyond anodizing.
J2A Acrylic body; magnetic front panel, tool-free removal; sloped profile Fully independent, swappable keys; layout customizable The only model whose front panel is user-removable without tools — panel swaps and key changes stay easy after delivery.
R1A Wireless frame-style build with a thin body; Brook GEN5W wireless link Framework structure — keys replaceable, layout customizable PS5 / PC / Steam Deck over the wireless link; roughly 10–12 hours per charge. A rare framework-style wireless base. Produced in dedicated runs — availability on request.
Fighting Board Bare PCB: Raspberry Pi Pico running GP2040-CE For buyers integrating their own enclosures. PC / PS3 / PS4 / Switch / Switch 2; PS5 use requires an additional authentication device; Xbox is not supported.
Value line — entry tier for large-batch giveaways & events
Kylinix T16Kylinix T16 translucent leverless controller Slim acrylic body with a translucent shell (clear white / clear black); thin profile with a large panel 霞軸 0.5 mm linear; classic T16 layout The value-line lead. Budget-friendly custom runs on the same PCB and firmware as the flagships — the natural base for tournament prizes, community giveaways and campaign merchandise. PC and dedicated PS5-compatible (tested) versions.
S15 Acrylic body; roomier button spacing Nylon keycaps; switch selection confirmed per run A more relaxed spacing that many players find comfortable over long sessions — an easy fit for event and community runs.
Plus D16 Acrylic build wrapped in an aluminum outer frame; solid one-piece feel Panda V1 silent tactile; HP nylon keycaps The upgraded entry base: the aluminum frame stiffens the build while the acrylic top stays warm to the touch in winter.
Switch line

Custom-tooled, not off the shelf.

Our switch specifications are developed in-house and produced on dedicated tooling at Gateron and Kailh. Every aluminum model is hot-swappable, so a run can mix switch choices.

Honest note on the 0.5 mm 霞軸: it is a high-sensitivity switch, not a beginner switch. Players used to long-travel buttons need an adaptation period — the technique is to tap, not to rest fingers on keys. We flag this on every 霞軸-equipped build so your talent or players know what to expect.

Customization matrix

Eight dimensions you can specify.

A

Panel artwork

Talent or brand art, factory-printed and factory-applied on panel models. You supply the art and hold its rights; we handle production.

B

Colorways

Anodized brushed or UV-coated CNC aluminum finishes matched to talent, team or brand colors.

C

Logo engraving

Laser engraving on aluminum surfaces — the same process behind the M3 Pro's key-zone markings.

D

Keycaps

HP nylon, PBT dye-sub, ABS or 3D-printed nylon, selected per run; color direction confirmed at the render stage.

E

Switch selection

Choose from our custom-tooled line per run — and thanks to hot-swap, end users can still change later.

F

Firmware mapping

Per-run button mapping and profiles on our GP2040-CE-based board. SOCD cleaning support, designed to meet major tournament guidelines. No input automation.

G

Lighting

Backlight presets on LED-equipped models; on M16, per-key backlight plus app-controlled side-panel color and mode.

H

Packaging

Retail box, sleeve and insert direction developed with your team — scope and unit cost confirmed per project.

Process

Four gates from idea to delivery.

01 / SPEC

Requirements

RFQ in: organization type, batch size, base model preference, custom scope, region, target date.

02 / RENDER

Design sign-off

Build renders of panel art, colorway and engraving for approval before production starts.

03 / SAMPLE

Pre-production unit

A sample build for hands-on verification — feel, finish, mapping — before committing the batch.

04 / BATCH

Run & delivery

Production with per-unit checks, then delivery to your destination. Lead time confirmed per project.

What we never publish: MOQ, unit pricing, lead times or certifications are never listed on this site — they are confirmed per project, in writing, on request. What we never build: input-automation functions of any kind. Where we stand: Hitbox Works is an independent studio with no affiliation to Sony Interactive Entertainment, Nintendo or Microsoft; platform names describe compatibility only.

Pick a base model. We handle the rest.

Not sure which base fits your program? Say so in the RFQ — we will recommend one against your batch size and use case.
